Hello, My Name Is…Lilia

image(Isn’t that a fun picture? Lilia is one of my dearest friends. She was my college roommate for 3 years and my bridesmaid at my wedding. Give some comment love to my friend Lilia.)
1. What is your name or pseudonym and where do you live?
My pseudonym is Lilia.  I chose that name because I used to baby-sit this ADORABLE little German girl named Lilia, and now I find myself living in Germany.  So, Lilia in Germany.  I don’t post comments very often… just when there are prizes involved.

2. How did you find The Secret Life of Kat? Why do you read it?
I used to be a daily reader (lurker?) of Kat’s earlier family blog.  Since I was so faithful there and since I lived so far away, she allowed me the privilege of viewing her “secret life” blog.  I read it because I like what Kat has to say and I think she’s a really great writer.  I also like keeping up with tidbits/photos (too few of both, btw) of the cute small people.

3. What do you do?
I am a missionary in Germany.

4. What is one thing you’d like to brag about....if you were a bragger?
I am a pretty darn good foosball player (defense)… really.  It’s a natural talent I didn’t know I possessed until moving to Germany and started hanging out with college kids.

5. Recommend: 1 book, 1 musician, 1 movie, 1 blog
Book:  The Glass Castle by ?  Fascinating!!  (not Christian)
Musician:  David Crowder and his band (worship)
Movie:  movies must be recommended based on the taste of the person you’re recommending them to.   So, I won’t go there, lest I get in trouble.
Blog:  besides Kat’s great blog, which I recommend all the time, I can highly recommend Brant Hanson’s blog, Letters From Kamp Krusty.  It’s real funny and insightful.

6. What is something significant you’ve learned this year?
Wow.  I have learned a lot.  One thing is; I’ve learned German.  That’s pretty significant for me.

7. What is your favorite quote or verse?
My favorite verse is Jeremiah 17:7&8 – Trust in the Lord, and you will look like a beautiful, always green, always fruitful tree.  (paraphrased)

8. Based on your life experience, what is one nugget of wisdom you’d like to share?
Success is measured by God… not man.  Just go with what He says and it’ll be all good.

9. If you have a blog, what is the web address?
I don’t have a blog.  I feel sort of out of fashion by saying that, but I just don’t think I would be a good blogger.  So, it’s for all of you, who might feel the urge to check out my blog, that I don’t have one… it would be boring.

10. How many 5 year olds do you think you could take in a fight?
Oh. Just 2… maybe… depending on the size and quickness of the kids.  If they’re anything like the Leininger boys (friends of ours), then I’d better go with just one.

Everyone, say guten tag to Miss Lilia.

I haven’t seen anyone pogo in quite some time.  Is this a lifelong passion?  What is her record?

Lilia, Lilia, Lilia.... who is taking care of you there in Germany now that I am not there to move furniture, fix tires, etc hmmm???....

By the Way - Jeremiah 7-8 is basically our family’s life verse and mine personally.  Essentially, if you stay tapped into Jesus (the river) you will always be doing well/bearing fruit even when there is heat or a drought.  Stay tapped into Jesus and you will be the able to be the shade that people go to when they are struggling.  The refuge amid craziness.

Hi Lilia!  I didn’t know it was you until I saw the picture!  I lived at the Landing down a ways from you in college.  Glad you are doing well!

Guten Tag everyone and thanks for the “comment love”.

Kim - I thought that it might be you!  Hi!  Good times at the landing…

Jimmy - no one!  Bummer that you’re not around to do all my manual labor.

Mamas Boy - a life long passion!  My record is around 4 or 5.  I guess that’s something else I could brag about…

Everyone else - hi and thanks for taking the time… ‘Lil
