One of my all time favorite quotes is from Anne of Green Gables. She says, “Every day is new, fresh with no mistakes.”
One morning I was praying before the kids woke up. I’d had a horrible day with them the day before and I was really down about how I was doing as a mom.
I was sitting there in tears and I turned on my ipod.
The first song that played was a song by The Robbie Seay Band called New Day. It was exactly what I needed to hear.
It felt as if God was encouraging me that yesterday was yesterday and today is today. It’s different. It’s new. It’s fresh with no mistakes.
It gave me such motivation to start fresh and live today free from regret. There is hope every morning to be the mom that I long to be.
The message of the song is great, but what really makes this song stand out is that the music and production are just as stellar.
Robbie has an amazing voice and during the bridge of the song there is a chorus of people singing along and clapping and it’s very anthemic (is that a word?). It has been a staple on my running playlist and it’s one of the songs that got me through my race on Saturday.
This is one of those songs that I’m just gonna tell you that you need to buy. The whole album is amazing, really. And it’s only $7.99 on iTunes.
Here’s the song New Day:

1) Yes, anthemic is a word.
2) I’ve liked much of what I’ve heard from Robby Seay Band. I’ve not heard this song, so I’ll have to check it out.

Kat, great call on this RSB album and song. “New Day” is also a highlight for me along with “Song Of Hope (Heaven Come Down)” and my favorite song is “Rise” especially the way Robbie urges us to “give yourself away"-great album and recommendation, I totally agree.

Awesome, Kat. This is Robbie’s sister Jenn (we’ve bumped into each other in the blog world recently.) Thanks for plugging Rob’s music. I know we’re partial to him, but this album really is amazing!
